If you must do something to make him happy, try a swap file. When it
doesn't solve his problem, remove the swap file.

If you are actually running out of memeory, buy more RAM. It's cheap
these days. Also, if you user is getting OOM messages and you solve
the problem with more swap, performance will, of course, tank.
