Hahaha, that cracked me up!  Quite the comparison :)

By the way, doesn't the UW wireless require authentication through the
browser before it will let you browse?  I know in Grainger hall I have to
authenticate through the browser before I can get on the network.  Maybe
that this the problem you are facing?
