[Madlug] files not getting copied to the correct location on a webdav mount

Dear MadLug list

I am trying to copy a file into a WebDAV-mounted directory, but when I do

cp file webdav-dir/file,

the file ends up under webdav-dir/lost+found/file-nonsense

Is there configuration setting that is causing this?  I remember having 
this problem a while ago, but I cannot remember what I did to fix it.

FWIW, I am using davfs2-1.4.1 (built from source) on Ubuntu 9.04.
