I've used openwrt on several devices and have been happy with it. Some
of the work doesn't appear as clean as Tomato and other variants, but
the full buildroot environment is available so you can make changes as
you deem necessary. I'm using a pair of Buffalo 54g's with openwrt to
provide an openvpn tunnel between two of their offices. Been rock
solid. Only time I had to restart either device was when there was an
extended power failure which knocked out their internet.
