[Madlug] Vmware ESXi

I have the desire to get VMware's ESXi on an old (but still very functional)
Dell server.  My current understanding is that ESXi does not recognize the
on board SATA controller that I have and would much prefer a RAID
controller.  First and foremost does anyone have access to old Dell hardware
that they might be able to sell to me?  Secondly, has anyone else who may
have had to mess around with this got advice for me?

Additional details:
Server is a Dell Poweredge 750
I'm trying to install ESXi 3.5

controller list I'm working with.
